The V.E.T. team

The V.E.T. team could not be complete without the help and support of our volunteers from all over the world. We are proud to recognize volunteers from Denmark, Holland, Spain, Switzerland, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, U.S.A., India Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Israel, and Canada.

All the members of the V.E.T. Team are volunteers and receive no money or gratuities of any kind for their work and dedication



 

Laurie MacKenzie - Professor/Volunteer Coordinator


Laurie taught English in Yangshuo for two years before creating the V.E.T. Program. He believes that a Volunteer English Teacher program will be a great help to the future of the children in poor rural areas around Yangshuo. Before coming to China Laurie was involved in and led many volunteer programs in Canada.

Ashley Elnishi – English Teacher/Co-coordinator & Volunteer


Ashley has been teaching in China for over one year working with primary and junior middle school students. She volunteered with V.E.T. program for 3 weeks before returning home to Canada. While there she realized her dream to help others was waiting for her in Yangshuo. Since her return to China Ashley has dedicated herself to the Program and teaching the children.

 

Betts MacKenzie – Education Consultant


Betts assists the V.E.T. Program by helping with suggestions for teaching and curriculum. She is currently employed at Buckland International Education Group as the Teacher Trainer were she gives lessons on lesson planning, learning activities, and classroom management.
